Fanvid Sunday: The Twilight Takeover Edition (Spoilers)

That's right, today will be a very special edition because I'm taking over Fanvid Sunday! Why you ask? Mostly I want to steal Bitsy's thunder. Just kidding (not really.)

The actual reason I've jacked Fanvid Sunday is because ever since Twilightgate (tm) rocked this fandom, we've been wondering if a fanvid exists using the shocking subject matter of Twilight's now known true spoiler-ish identity. Bits hasn't been able to find any in the 'verse for a month now...so I secretly approached friends of Buffyfest and Lady Gaga fanvid creators - Juniper and Justin - to make a custom one just for Buffyfest! Oh yeah! I know, I know, some might say this will be the best Fanvid Sunday ever. Some might just be right.



Love it! Now we're not usually in the business of making vids. Aside from Bitsy's Vlogs and the occasional massive international hit single, we stay away from such fare. Hey, all! It is absolutely stunning out today and I am going to reach escape velocity as quickly as humanly possible. Before I do, though, I want to make sure no one is denied to a little fanvid sunday. Today I'm throwing out a little Dollhouse love despite my personal tepid feelings for the show still. fanvid sunday: cover song edition

In lieu of the usual fanvid sunday, I thought I'd provide two very different cover versions of "(Do You Wanna) Date My Avatar". The first is from one of the many "girls on youtube with glasses who cover songs with their acoustic guitars that nerds like". Seriously, I feel like there's a million of these girls but I think this one is one of the best and nobody knows her.



And if college girls aren't to your liking then might I recommend a little Mario Paint style music?

I don't know why but I feel I could listen to Mario Paint covers of any song in the history of the universe. Honestly, clicking on one after another after another is a perpetuating quantum singularity that never fails to blissfully suck me into youtube hell. That's how you know Sundays are at the junction of Excitement Street and Wacky Avenue every Sunday in the Bitsy household. And speaking of Sundays, have a good one, everybody!

Interesting story: when I was still in college (back in the dark ages) a few friends of mine ran into Bjork at a cafe in upstate New York very randomly. I was so surprised to see her there that my mouth lay agape long enough for her to notice. She shot me what to this day is the dirtiest look I have ever received. It was such a dirty look that, ever since then, my friends and I still refer to that as the day Bjork punched me in the face... with her mind.

I like it because it's all about how complicated things can get between two people, how sometimes things can't work out and how sometimes we wish we could go back to the beginning when everything was still new and beautiful. There's something awe-inspiring in the simple effort of taking day to day real life footage and playing it along with scenes from Firefly. It gets to the heart of what connects the show to it's fans; that, no matter how big or damned the heroes may be, they are always relatable, always just hovering on the edge of our own reality. No matter how strong they are, they are still weak; no matter how weak they are, they are still strong.
